THE SUBMARINERS ASSOCIATION
NORTHAMPTONSHIRE BRANCH
The Submariners Association is an Association of ex and serving Submariners which seeks to maintain the special bonds of friendship, loyalty and comradeship, together with a pride in the Submarine Service, formed during service in Her Majesty´s Submarines.
The objective of the Submariners Association is to promote and support the RN Submarine Service and its heritage. To Foster the friendships and comradeship peculiar to all submariners so that they may continue to share the experiences and association, and to keep alive that pride in the Submarine Branch, formed during their service in H.M. Submarines.
To promote and foster relationships with submariners of other countries.
To enhance the well-being of submariners past and present and their families.
To promote and support the Submariners Memorial Fund.
We need more members to sustain the present membership so if you are a submariner or an ex-submariner and you would like to have a pint and reminisce and possibly meet old shipmates and occasionally raise some money to help unfortunate members in times of need we would like to hear from you.
Since commissioning we have raised over £5000 for various charities, including The Submarine Memorial Trust, Guide Dogs for the Blind, McMillan Nurses, Multiple Sclerosis and donations to other good causes.
We're not a serious bunch so you would have to take what you find. Contact can be made with our secretary John Cumberpatch on 01536 504102 or by using the Contact Us page or you can just turn up at one of our monthly meetings and dip your toe in the water and see what we get up to. The meetings are very informal. If you think you recognize any old buddies on the members list and would like to make contact this can be done through John.
On occassion we as a branch visit Faslane to sample the comforts of the nuclear boats just to remind ourselves as to what we are missing??? Travel is by organized coach.
An annual dinner is held near Christmas when we have a prominent speaker to give an after dinner speech.
We have a presence at the Submarine Memorial Service each year on the Thames embankment. Travel is by organized coach.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Submariners Association then contact the branch secretary, who if necessary will pass your details to your local branch and arrange for them to contact you. If you wish to join the Associates programme then simply register here

MEETINGS
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 2000 at the Railway Club Wellingborough.
This is an informal meeting, more a pint and lamp swinging session as we find it difficult to raise a quorum.
