Dorset Branch of the Submariners Association was founded in 1956 and for many years suffered from a lack of members, at times active membership was down to two or three.
Bill Eades almost single-handedly kept the branch going for many years until he retired as Secretary around two years ago. In recognition of his sterling efforts Bill is now an Honorary life member.
Membership now stands around the 35 mark, with anything up to half that number regularly attending the monthly meetings. We also have 5 Associate members. We are always looking for new members, don't put off joining if you are thinking about it, if you are reading this and don't live in the Dorset area, contact the Secretary and he will forward you enquiry on to your local branch
Our Members age range is from one WWII submariner right through to those that have recently retired from the service. So whatever your age there will be someone to swap dits with.
